PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Disabled Persons' Right to Access to Public Transport (22 April 1990)
Motion Details
That this House believes that disabled people have a right to be able to travel on affordable public transport; applauds the efforts of the Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee to achieve this; but, recognising that public transport is still largely inaccessible to many people with disabilities, calls for legislative action to require that all new buses and coaches purchased from 1992 by operators in the United Kingdom be accessible to all people with disabilities, including wheelchair users.
