PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Homeless Children in London (1 July 1990)

Motion Details

That this House congratulates the London Network on presenting over 7,000 post cards to the Department of the Environment on Monday 2nd July, one for each child in London's bed and breakfast hotels; is alarmed at the physical danger these children are in and that their health and development suffers due to over-crowding and inadequate access to education and nursery facilities; demands that resources be taken from the construction of speculative office blocks and luxury housing kept vacant for private gain and transferred to building and buying homes for affordable controlled rent; and resolves that housing should be a right and not a privilege.
