PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
MILLICENT FAWCETT HALL (20 May 1992)
Motion Details
That this House notes with concern Westminster City Council's proposal to demolish Millicent Fawcett Hall to make way for a temporary car park; recognises that the hall is one of the few public buildings associated with the Women's Suffrage Movement; notes that Project W has offered to buy the hall at the current market value to provide a women's resource centre; and calls on Westminster City Council to accept the offer from Project W so that the hall will serve as a memorial to the fight for women's emancipation and provide a focus for activity for women in the future.
