PUBLIC INQUIRY INTO THE SACKING OF DR. CHRIS CHAPMAN (13 July 1992)
Motion Details
That this House condemns the decision to sack Dr Chris Chapman from his job as senior biochemist at the Leeds General Infirmary; recognises that Dr Chapman's work has saved the NHS millions of pounds, and that he is a highly regarded scientist; applauds Dr Chapman's integrity, and acknowledges that the allegations of financial and scientific irregularities have been proven to be accurate; sees the decision to sack Dr Chapman as an attempt to stop him telling the truth, and as part of a personal vendetta against him, because he has told the truth; calls for a full public inquiry into Dr Chapman's sacking and the allegations of financial and scientific irregularities; and asks the inquiry to look in detail into the part played in the financial and scientific irregularities by Mr Stuart Ingham, Professor John Whicker and Dr Ian Barnes
