CRUELTY OF WHALING (NO.2) (5 July 1992)
Motion Details
That this House is appalled by Norway's unilateral decision to resume the immensely cruel practice of whaling; deplores Iceland leaving the International Whaling Commission; believes whaling to be cruel and barbarous and that there is no humane way to slaughter whales; urges Japan not to resume commercial whaling and to bring so-called scientific whaling to an end; calls upon Her Majesty's Government to convey to the whaling nations the British public's widespread abhorrence at the slaughter of whales; and urges the Government to do everything it can to promote the establishment of an Antarctic Whale Sanctuary and to resist any resumption of the barbaric practice of commercial whaling.
