PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
TOXIC WASTE MANAGEMENT (20 October 1992)
Motion Details
That this House is dismayed at the many serious problems caused by the need to dispose safely of toxic wastes from industrial, municipal and medical sources; understands the justifiable opposition of those communities adjacent to existing or proposed facilities designated for such use; recognises that the solution is not to increase disposal capacity, but to implement a programme to tackle such problems appropriately upstream by waste reduction application of clean technologies and adoption of recycling techniques; and finally calls upon Her Majesty's Government to devise effective incentives to encourage adoption of such a programme at the earliest date.
