PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
RIGHT TO KNOW (2 December 1992)
Motion Details
That this House believes that people should have the right to know and that increasing both the amount and the quality of information available to individuals and organisations about the actions of central government, local government and public and private corporate organisations, will enhance democracy, improve efficiency in the use of resources and give power to each citizen over their own life as customer and employee, and stengthen the ability of the media to investigate and report on behalf of the people; and so supports the introduction of legislation in the form of a Right to Know Bill.
