PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER AND THE NEED FOR PRIVACY (26 November 1992)
Motion Details
That this House recognises that, amusing as it is for newspapers to subject politicians to ridicule, it is nevertheless an outrageous breach of privacy for the London Evening Standard to publish a leak of the Chancellor's personal and confidential financial affairs; believes the House should in protest ban the Evening Standard from parliamentary buildings and stop all Government advertising in it; and believes that a comprehensive Bill protecting privacy such as that proposed by the honourable Member for Hammersmith is urgently needed.
