PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CHILD EXPLOITATION (19 November 1992)
Motion Details
That this House is appalled by increasing child poverty, inadequate resourcing of the Children Act and the lack of responsiveness by Government departments to the rights and needs of children; notes that 20th November is International Children's Rights Day and Children in Need Day in Britain; urges the Government to campaign against child exploitation in all forms in all countries, for example, the use of children to mine coal in Colombia; and calls on the Government to appoint a Minister for Children and an independent children's rights commissioner as important first steps to improving the lives of Britain's children.
