PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
BADGER SETTS (11 November 1992)
Motion Details
That this House is appalled to learn of the intention of the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the honourable Member for Crawley, to grant licences to fox hunters to dig and to enter dogs into badger setts; notes that in this he has ignored the advice of his departmental scientific expert; utterly condemns this practice as undermining the provisions of the Protection of Badgers Act 1992; and demands that the Parliamentary Secretary forthwith revoke this commitment and commit himself fully to the protection of badgers and their habitats.
