PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CLOSURE OF HAYWARDS HEATH HOSPITAL (11 November 1992)
Motion Details
That this House is appalled to learn that Haywards Heath Hospital is to be closed temporarily by Mid-Downs Health Authority as part of a plan to stabilise the health authority's finances; believes that this temporary closure will become permanent; notes that the hospital looks after 56 elderly and terminally ill people with 28 general practitioner beds; further notes that the reasons given for the financial crisis is a loss of contracts within East Sussex and from general practitioner fund holders; and therefore calls on the Government to immediately take steps to invest in NHS provision so hospital closures can be avoided.
