CONDUCT OF SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL AND THE HONOURABLE MEMBERS FOR SHEFFIELD ATTERCLIFFE, BRIGHTSIDE, CENTRAL, HEELEY AND HILLSBOROUGH (25 January 1993)
Motion Details
That this House condemns Sheffield City Council for providing ú55, 000 in a subsidy for the constituency offices of the honourable Members for Sheffield Attercliffe, Brightside, Central, Heeley and Hillsborough; notes that this is only available to Labour honourable Members; further notes that two of these honourable Members are former leaders of Sheffield City Council; further notes that Sheffield Council claims to be in financial difficulties and alleges that it has to make thousands of redundancies; and urges Sheffield Labour honourable Members to refuse to accept further subsidies and repay all money which has been spent on them by Sheffield business ratepayers and Community Charge payers.
