PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
SHIPBUILDING INDUSTRY (9 December 1992)

Motion Details

That this House notes the continuing threat to jobs in the British shipbuilding and ship repair industries, exemplified by the closure of Cammel Lairds; recognises the important role the Intervention Fund can play in helping British yards to win new orders for merchant vessels; and therefore calls on the Government to seek extensions to the Seventh Directive on aid to shipbuilding so that warship yards can qualify for intervention funding.
