PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
TODAY NEWSPAPER AND GOVERNMENT ECONOMIC POLICY (10 February 1993)
Motion Details
That this House notes with grave concern the front page article in the Today newspaper of 10th February which exposes the cost to the British people of the failures of the Government's economic policy; notes that free-fall devaluation means that the average British worker's annual pay is now worth ú500 less than a week ago; believes that the public dispute between the Prime Minister and his Chancellor over the direction of policy has been central to the continuing weakness of the British economy; and recognises that the only way to restore confidence in the economy is for government to take positive action to lead Britain out of recession.
