PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
BUREAUCRACY AND THE NHS (4 February 1993)
Motion Details
That this House views with great alarm the effects that the introduction of the market has had on the National Health Service with a tripling in management numbers between 1989 to 1991 at a time when thousands of nursing and midwifery staff were lost; believes that the health of the nation is being bogged down in costly and continual administrative changes at the expense of patient care; and supports calls for a National Audit Office investigation into the Government's waste of public money on its National Health Service changes.
