PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CONSERVATIVE PARTY AND IMPERIAL TOBACCO LIMITED (3 February 1993)

That this House welcomes the confirmation by Mr P. Middleton, the Marketing Director of Imperial Tobacco Ltd., in a letter to the honourable Member for Newport West, that his company gave the Conservative Party access to their poster sites during the General Election campaign 'because they were the only party that stated in their manifesto that they would vote against the proposed EC Directive on the banning of tobacco advertising'; and urges the Government to resist this crude and blatant attempt to bribe them.
