PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CLIFFORD ROBERTS: OFFSETTING OF INVALIDITY BENEFIT AGAINST RETIREMENT PENSION (2 February 1993)

Motion Details

That this House notes that under sundry social security acts and regulations, recovery of invalidity benefit paid to Mr Clifford Roberts is set against arrears of retirement pension due to him from 20th November 1991 to 15th December 1992; deplores such treatment of a pensioner who has worked and paid national insurance contributions since the age of 16; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to amend the appropriated regulations to ensure that pension entitlements should not be thus forfeited.
