PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
RAMBLERS ASSOCIATION (15 March 1993)
Motion Details
That this House congratulates the Ramblers' Association for its campaign to protect and extend access on foot to the moors, mountains, heaths and downs of England and Wales; agrees with this organisation's strategy to highlight the fact that whilst some landowners grant access to their land, many to do in return for an exemption from inheritance tax; calls upon Her Majesty's Government to ensure that in future all arrangements of this kind, along with other publicly funded or aided schemes to such owners, are only given where the public is granted reasonable access to land; and asks also that in future such information on agreements is published for the benefit of the general public on ordnance survey maps.
