PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
WARRINGTON GENERAL HOSPITAL (8 March 1993)
Motion Details
That this House condemns the action of Warrington General Hospital in terminating the employment of 80 temporary nursing staff despite them previously being given assurances that their jobs would be safe when the hospital became a National Health Service trust; and notes that they have been told that they must finish by 31st March and that they will not be paid unless they hand in their uniforms by then, yet at the same time structural alterations and redecorating has taken place to provide a new boardroom and offices for directors, showing again the wrong priorities governing trusts which are geared for profit rather than patient care.
