PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Volunteers’ Week, 1st to 7th June 2022 (5 June 2022)

Motion Details

That this House welcomes Volunteers’ Week which is scheduled to take place from 1st to 7th June; understands the campaign, which started in 1984, means to mark its 38th year by formally saying thank you to volunteers across the UK; also thanks the teams involved in each of the four nations for spearheading respective campaigns; notes the tremendous work of Volunteer Scotland and its partners to further develop and promote volunteering campaigns; understands that Scotland’s Volunteering Action plan is scheduled to launch on 15 June following Volunteers’ Week; looks forward to seeing what areas are identified in this road map for maximising the impact of volunteering; agrees that it is essential the efforts of volunteers across the UK at both national and local level must be recognised, especially for their work during the covid-19 pandemic; looks forward to continuing to work with organisations at both the local and national level to help promote the invaluable work done by volunteers across the UK; and wishes to extend a personal thank you to all volunteers.
