PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
PUBLIC SERVICE WORKERS AND THE RIGHT TO STRIKE (25 April 1993)

Motion Details

That this House deplores the reported intention of the Government to introduce measures to ban the right to strike for public service workers; believes that such a move would not only be in breach of ILO conventions to which the United Kingdom is a signatory but would be a fundamental attack on the civil liberties of millions of workers and a serious step along the road to an authoritarian state; and calls upon the Government to publicly renounce all plans to take such action.
