PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Children's Mental Health Week (5 January 2022)

Motion Details

That this House recognises that 7 February 2022 marks the beginning of Children’s Mental Health Week; notes that this year’s theme is growing together; recognises that the covid-19 pandemic has challenged the mental health of children and adults across the world and understands that those challenges and setbacks can help us to grow and adapt together; further acknowledges that 75 per cent of mental illnesses start before a person’s 18th birthday, highlighting a growing need for mental health support from a young age; thanks all the UK mental health charities currently providing support, including Place2Be and YoungMinds; and urges the Government to implement a dedicated mental health strategy.
