PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Annual Ceremony of the Christmas Cheeses (14 December 2021)

That this House congratulates Dairy UK in staging the 2021 Annual Ceremony of the Christmas Cheeses, which forms the beginning of the Chelsea Pensioners' traditional Christmas celebrations; further congratulates in-pensioner Mrs Carol Knight, who was given the honour of cutting the ceremonial cheese at this historic ceremony; recognises that dairy products form a key part of a balanced diet for all ages; welcomes the work of the Royal Hospital in ensuring that dairy products play an important role in the diet of the Chelsea Pensioners; and calls on the Department of Health and Social Care to take steps to promote the consumption of nutrient-rich foods such as milk, cheese and yogurt.
