Life and work of Tam Waterson, UNISON activist in the NHS (21 September 2021)

Motion Details

That this House recognises the life and work of Tam Waterson, a UNISON activist for 35 years, who died on 9 September 2021; further recognises his work as a Senior Steward within Lothian Health Branch and as Chair of the UNISON Scottish Health Committee; sends condolences to his family at this time; recognises his tireless work representing the rights of NHS staff at local, Scottish and UK levels; notes his participation in the Scottish Government partnership structures and further notes that his valuable contributions within these structures were welcomed within these forums and helped inform key policies to support all staff in Scotland’s NHS; believes that the health service in Scotland benefited from his dedicated service over the years; celebrates his work in his trade union activities; recognises the esteem in which he was held by his many friends and colleagues; and offers condolences, at this time, to all who knew him.
