PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
VIOLENCE AND LICENSED PREMISES (19 April 1993)
Motion Details
That this House is appalled by the increasing level of violence, particularly in and close to licensed premises; is concerned at the failure of the Licensed Premises (Exclusion of Certain Persons) Act 1980 to deal with this problem; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to amend the legislation to include a requirement to inform the police of all exclusion orders in their area, to provide photographs of excluded persons to the licensees of premises from which these persons have been excluded, to enable Crown and magistrates' courts to impose an order covering all licensed premises within a licensing division, to extend the scope of the Act to cover the area close to licensed premises and to encourage the Crown Prosecution Service, the police and magistrates to use this Act more frequently.
