PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Bombardier Redundancies and Aerospace Sector (10 June 2020)

Motion Details

That this House notes with regret the announcement of 400 full time redundancies at Bombardier, Belfast and additional risk to 200 agency staff; acknowledges the severe impact covid-19 has had and will continue to have on the economy generally and the aerospace and aviation sector in particular; notes that the New Economic Foundation predict up to 70,000 aerospace redundancies; welcomes the collaborative work undertaken by ADS, Unite and other interested groups to bring forward innovative proposals; views approvingly the steps taken in both the United States of America and France to significantly invest in their respective aerospace industries and calls on the Government to establish an Aerospace Taskforce to tailor a comparable economic stimulus package for this important sector in the UK.
