PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
EDM Deforestation (10 June 2020)

Motion Details

This House is concerned at the scale of deforestation around the world; recognises that rainforests are important to both animals and humans alike and that deforestation has a negative effect on air by reducing the amount of oxygen; further notes that the links between deforestation and drought are very significant; believes that the climate emergency is the biggest challenge facing the future of our planet and that there is a need to recognise the impact of deforestation as it is happening right now; and calls on the Government to work with the international community to take steps to protect our planet’s rainforests.
