That this House notes Dementia Awareness Week, which runs from 1 to 8 June 2020, recognises the vital work of Alzheimer Scotland, Scotland’s national dementia charity, in providing practical and emotional support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families; appreciates the efforts made to ensure the continuing nature of that work during the covid-19 pandemic; acknowledges the particular difficulties and challenges of lockdown for people living with dementia, and their carers; appreciates the imaginative and focussed work of the Alzheimer Scotland staff who are working hard to minimise the additional challenges presented by Covid-19 so that continued support can be provided; notes the ongoing delivery of services and support and the imaginative way alternative delivery methods have been put into place; applauds the teamwork between Alzheimer Scotland, health and care teams, and local volunteers and Dementia Friends, focused on supporting those living with dementia and their carers; and recognises the vital importance of the support provided by Alzheimer Scotland for people in all communities.
