PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
PHARMACIES (13 May 1993)
Motion Details
That this House condemns the latest pay proposals from the Department of Health which could result in the closure of almost one in five of Sheffield's pharmacies, as the professional allowance will only be paid to pharmacies of dispensing more than 2,000 items per month, and therefore puts in jeopardy the following numbers of pharmacies in each Sheffield constituency, namely Hallam (6), Central (7), Attercliffe (2), Hillsborough (2) and Heeley (5), with the consequent loss of a valuable and accessible source of health care for the local community; notes the consequences of this proposal thus will fall heavily on the most vulnerable members of society; and therefore demands that those proposals be withdrawn.
