PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CCTV in care homes (24 February 2020)

Motion Details

That this House recognises that people living in residential care homes represent some of the most vulnerable members of society most of whom have made commendable contributions to society over the course of their working and social lives; welcomes the Government’s ongoing review of social care policy; notes that there are still many instances of neglect across the care sector; and calls on the Government to bring forward legislative proposals to enable residents, should they so choose and at their own expense, to have CCTV in their room in order to provide greater protection, to provide family members with additional peace of mind, to raise standards and to provide higher levels of accountability.
