ORANGUTAN APPEAL UK (26 June 2019)

Motion Details

That this House acknowledges the extraordinary and invaluable work undertaken by Orangutan Appeal UK and Chairperson and Founder Susan Sheward MBE; welcomes the close co-operation of the charity with the Sabah Wildlife Department in Malaysian Borneo for the last 19 years; commends them for providing support and raising worldwide awareness for the critically endangered orangutan; and applauds the investment of over £2 million in Sabah, which has included refurbishment of the renowned Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and sponsorship of eight local staff to work at the centre and the funding of numerous orangutan rescues, releases and translocations.
