PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
BRIDGE INN BEST PUB GRUB AWARD (15 May 2019)

That this House congratulates the Bridge Inn at Ratho on being awarded the best pub grub honour at this year’s Edinburgh Restaurant Awards; understands that the award is testament to the hard work of the staff at the Bridge Inn for their efforts in providing excellent food, a welcoming atmosphere and outstanding service to their customers; recognises the social and economic importance of having strong pubs such as the Bridge Inn at the heart of communities across the country; notes that pubs provide vital job opportunities and offer a focal point where families and friends can come together; calls on the UK Government not to increase beer duty in the 2019 Budget and to support pubs; and hopes that the Bridge Inn has another excellent year as it defends its title in the 2020 Restaurant Awards.
