PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
ISRAELI OCCUPATION OF THE GOLAN HEIGHTS (22 March 2019)

Motion Details

That this House reiterates its support for the long-held international position that Israel is in occupation of the Golan Heights and has been for nearly 52 years; notes that such an occupation should be temporary and that all Israeli settlements there are illegal under international law; urges the UK Government and European partners to oppose the new position of the US Government recognising the Golan as Israeli territory; and calls on the UK Government to reiterate the vital nature of the land-for-peace formula based on UN Security Council Resolution 242 and the UN Security Council Resolution 497 of 1981 calling on Israel to rescind its illegal annexation to be implemented.
