PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
KASHMIR (5 March 2019)

Motion Details

That this House expresses its profound concern regarding the recent conflict between India and Pakistan over Kashmir; has been alarmed by the use of military action by India across Pakistani airspace and retaliatory air strikes from Pakistan; recognises the escalating tensions and human rights abuses as documented in last year’s United Nations’ report; calls on both Indian and Pakistani Governments to enter into a process of peace and reconciliation; further calls on the UK Government in collaboration with the international community, to provide the necessary support to enable this peace process to happen; and recognises that the interests of the Kashmiri people must be paramount, together with their desire to control their destiny for a sustainable peace.
