PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
PEACE BETWEEN INDIA AND PAKISTAN (4 March 2019)
Motion Details
That this House recognises that the ongoing escalation of military conflict between India and Pakistan is not in the interests of either country; notes that both countries possess nuclear capabilities and that a continuation of this conflict could destabilise the entire region and lead to a catastrophic loss of life; acknowledges that the returning of a captured Indian pilot is a positive goodwill gesture towards peace by Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan; and calls on the international community to step up its efforts to defuse the current situation and mediate between both countries to maintain peace in the region.
