PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
WAR DISABLEMENT PENSION IN ESA ASSESSMENTS (25 February 2019)

Motion Details

That this House calls on the Department for Work and Pensions to disregard armed forces compensation payments, including war disablement pension, from Employment Support Allowance (ESA) means-testing; believes that veterans receiving war disablement pension because of physical or mental impairments incurred through service should not be materially disadvantaged in claiming ESA; and highlights the need for Department for Work and Pensions assessors to be clearly instructed not to include armed forces compensation payments such as war disablement pension into account when means-testing veterans for ESA.
