PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
UN SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION 2452 ON YEMEN (16 January 2019)
Motion Details
That this House welcomes the unanimous adoption of Resolution 2452 at the UN Security Council on 16 January 2019, which calls for the establishment in Yemen of the United Nations Mission to support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA); recognises that this Special Political Mission will allow up to 75 independent monitors to operate in the ports of Hodeidah, Salif and Ras Issa to support the adoption of the Hodeidah Agreement; understands that this agreement, reached in Stockholm in December 2018, calls for the mutual redeployment of Houthi and Coalition-backed forces from the port, and establishes a ceasefire in the city of Hodeidah; urges the Government to take all necessary measures to support the implementation of this Resolution and the Stockholm Agreement; and calls on the Government to continue to make every effort through diplomatic and political means to ensure there is an immediate and complete ceasefire in Yemen.
