PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
DEFENCE FIRE AND RESCUE PROJECT CONTRACT AND MOD CONTINGENT LIABILITY (18 June 2018)
Motion Details
That this House strongly objects to the awarding of the Defence Fire and Rescue Project contract to Capita Business Services; notes the recent decision of the Government to strip the same company of a £400 million maintenance contract due to significant concerns raised by the National Audit Office; believes that the safety of the armed forces should be at the forefront of every decision made by the Government; recognises the importance of keeping these services in-house; acknowledges the work that Unite the union has done on protecting its members' interests; and calls on the Secretary of State for Defence to reconsider outsourcing the contract, reversing the current decision and setting out the reasons for seeking the liability announced in the Written Statement of 18 June 2019, HCWS 770.
