PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
PERSONAL INDEPENDENCE PAYMENT ASSESSMENT PROCESS (3 June 2018)
Motion Details
That this House expresses its concern over the current personal independence payment assessment process; believes the current assessment and reassessment process places a huge burden onto those with serious and often life limiting illnesses; is concerned that problems have occurred with unqualified assessors, a lack of specialist knowledge on rare conditions and access to assessment centers often being many miles from the area where claimants live; further believes that the private sector company carrying out these assessments is failing to meet the needs of claimants; and calls on the Government to urgently review the existing regulations and contract provider.
