LIZZY YARNOLD AND THE 2018 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES (20 February 2018)

Motion Details

That this House congratulates Lizzy Yarnold from West Kingsdown near Sevenoaks on her magnificent success at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games; notes that this is the first time any British athlete has retained a Winter Olympic title; recognises that funding from the National Lottery and the UK Sport's Girls4Gold talent programme have contributed to Lizzy's success; calls on the Government to recognise Lizzy's achievement with a lasting commitment to youth sport; further congratulates Lizzy's team mate, Laura Deas, who won bronze in the skeleton; and wishes Team GB's Paralympians every success at the Winter Paralympic Games in PyeongChang.
