PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
VOTES AT 16 (31 January 2018)

Motion Details

That this House welcomes proposals by the Welsh Government to lower the voting age to 16 in order to allow 16 and 17-year olds to vote in council elections in Wales; believes that this will increase political engagement and participation among young people as has already been demonstrated in Scotland; and calls on the Government to allow all 16 and 17-year olds across the UK to vote in all local, regional and national elections and referendums.
