PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CEASEFIRE IN YEMEN (6 November 2017)
Motion Details
That this House is deeply concerned at the recent escalation of tensions between Yemen and Saudi Arabia; notes with deep concern the missile fired from Houthi-controlled areas at Riyadh Airport on 4 November 2017 and the subsequent closing of Yemen's borders by the Saudi Arabian Coalition on 6 November 2017; calls on the Saudi Arabian-led coalition to reopen Yemen's ports to allow aid agencies to deliver aid to the 22 million Yemeni's who are in urgent need of assistance; further notes the scheduled meeting by the Foreign Ministers of the UK, Saudi Arabia, US, Oman and the UAE on 14 November 2017 to discuss the conflict in Yemen; and urges the Government to use these talks to press for an immediate ceasefire and resumption of peace talks in Yemen.
