PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
DWP ESTATES OFFICE CLOSURES (14 March 2017)

That this House is deeply concerned at the impact of plans recently announced by the Department for Work and Pensions for widespread office closures; believes that the closure of one in 10 jobcentres will create difficulties for many isolated and vulnerable people in accessing services; notes with concern the uncertainties facing staff and the economic impacts on communities affected by office closures; and calls on the Government to suspend any closures to allow for completion of comprehensive impact assessments, widest possible consultation with stakeholders and staff and detailed consideration of alternatives.
