UN INTERNATIONAL MIGRANTS DAY (19 December 2016)

Motion Details

That this House acknowledges the significant contribution that migrants make to all parts of the UK; welcomes those who choose to call the UK their home whether they are joining family, studying, working or seeking refuge or asylum; remembers all those migrants that have lost their lives fleeing persecution; and joins in celebrating UN International Migrants Day, 18 December 2016, as an opportunity to raise awareness of the rights of migrants in this country and the UK's duty to provide a place of protection and safety.
