PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
BRITISH PUB WEEK 2016 (24 October 2016)

Motion Details

That this House welcomes British Pub Week which runs from 28 October until 5 November 2016; supports the aims of British Pub Week to celebrate the great British pub, to unite the pub sector and to encourage people up and down the country to visit pubs; encourages people to visit its official online website and social media pages on Facebook and Twitter; further welcomes events happening throughout the week in pubs up and down the UK; believes that pubs are an important part of the history, heritage and culture of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland; further believes that pubs are at the heart of communities and that the pub has a unique role in bringing people together, as well as supporting charity, local sports, live music, comedy, theatre, folk culture and traditions; notes the huge contribution of pubs to national and local economies as businesses and employers; further encourages hon. Members to visit their local pubs during the week to show their support; and hopes that people up and down the UK will support British Pub Week.
