PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE FUNDING (14 June 2016)
Motion Details
That this House notes that the fire and rescue service has suffered cuts to its funding of nearly 30 per cent since 2010, resulting in the loss of over 7,000 frontline firefighters; further notes that response times are at their longest for 20 years; recognises that every second counts in an emergency; is concerned that lives could be put at risk from further cuts; and calls on the Government to invest in the future of this invaluable service.
