PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
REFUGEE WEEK 2016 (14 June 2016)

Motion Details

That this House welcomes Refugee Week 2016, which runs from 20 to 26 June; believes that this year's theme for Refugee Week of Welcome is particularly important given that the world is currently facing the greatest refugee crisis since the end of the Second World War, with 20 million refugees across the world and another 40 million internally displaced; further welcomes the aim of Refugee Week to create better understanding between different communities and to encourage successful integration, enabling refugees to live in safety and continue making a valuable contribution; encourages hon. Members to check what events are taking place in their constituency to mark Refugee Week; and calls on the Government to work with the many organisations involved in organising Refugee Week to ensure that refugees are given a warm welcome in the UK.
