PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
IMPORTATION AND TRADE IN IVORY (28 January 2016)

Motion Details

That this House notes that the Government has chosen not to implement the Conservative and Unionist Party manifesto commitment to end the importation and trade in ivory; further notes that the importation and trade in ivory promotes and facilities the gratuitous and needless death of elephants in countries such as Tanzania and Zimbabwe in circumstances that are best described as horrific; and calls on the Government to act immediately to close this trade and end the sale of ivory.
