PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
STRATHESK PRIMARY BIG AWARD (27 January 2016)

That this House congratulates Strathesk Primary School in Penicuik, Midlothian, on becoming the first school in Scotland to be awarded a BIG Award in recognition of its efforts to tackle bullying; commends the work of Strathesk primary staff, pupils and parents in cooperating to ensure that this was achieved; notes that the BIG (Bullying Intervention Group) is a nationally recognised award for excellence in tackling bullying in schools, and that schools are required to provide specific evidence to show they are providing specialist support; praises a great achievement for Strathesk Primary School; and further notes the exceptional work Head Teacher Ms Donaldson has done in making Strathesk a safer and happier environment.
