PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
SCOTTISH HUNTINGTON'S ASSOCIATION YOUTH WORK PROJECT (14 January 2016)

Motion Details

That this House recognises the excellent support the Scottish Huntington's Association Youth Project (SHAYP) provides to children and young people affected by Huntington's disease; understands that SHAYP offers help and support through both individual and group work, and residential programmes; acknowledges that without the specialist approach delivered by SHAYP, children and young people affected by Huntington's disease can feel alone and vulnerable, which can have an adverse impact on family relationships and education; further understands that Chloe Forbes, a young person from Kirkcaldy, is currently benefiting from the organisation; praises specialist youth adviser, Peter Carruthers, for his outstanding work with the project; and hopes that SHAYP will continue to receive the funding required to continue its important work with children and young people affected by Huntington's disease.
